Wish to get RAW GPS data from T114

Just received a late arrival of the Heltec T114 and unfortunately this one is still V1.1
It is also a defective device because the Meshtastic software is not running and giving errors.
The Meshtastic program does not start but initially it gives the message:
Lora Mode 0
And stop on:
t:60 bat: 4057
LoRa Error
32K OK 524 530
IO OK
If the GPS module is attached the last line is:
IO Error 21 34 38

Because I want to check the GPS module before I return the device I was wondering if there is a stand alone sketch available to check this. Your help is appreciated.

You haven’t got the meshtastic software, that’s lorawan thats running, you need to flash the device, should be able to do it from https://flash.meshtastic.org/ selecting the Heltec Mesh Node T114 which is under the nordic semiconductor heading

Thank you for your reaction, in the meantime I was already aware of this; you either can say RTFM, but in my defense they should not call it a Meshtastic device and supply it with LoraWan software. That is like buying a Windows PC with Linux installed. I bet you will notice this difference straight away. Also aware, and in process, to exchange this V1.1 for the improved V2 version so hopefully I do not need to talk with myself in the future (environment to urban).

If you bought at heltec they just send a replacement without having to send the old one back. The easiest way to check the GPS will be too flash meshtastic as the code to support it is in the fw, not sure about the lorawan as never bothered with it. As I have my v2s my previous post still stands you will need to flash for meshtastic. They sell it as a mesh device meaning multiple projects. That’s the end from me though good luck with your journey

No need to reply but agree Heltec themself call it a Mesh Node device but external sellers call it most of the time Meshtastic, hence my initial confusion which I could have solved with a better RTFM.

Hope in the future a sketch will come available which can address the GPS outside the Meshtastic environment (got a tablet without GPS sensor).

Planning today to upload the latest Meshtastic software, which is available again, to see if I get better coverage and check if long msg are send (Hope the software does not still limit the V1.1 power to achieve this).
