I guess this guy Richard wanted me to post this here. I mean, WTH, I opened a brand new purchase of a WiFi Lora 32 (4.3.1) and it doesnt boot, display doesnt work. This is my 6th purchase of one of these units and the only one that is defective. He seems very confused about whats going on but its simple. i plugged it into my pc with the included (crappy) antenna to update the FW. It didnt boot, made a connect, no connect, connect, no connect sound from my PC. No screen init - nothing. So its obvious defective right? I mean, the FIVE units i purchased before this one worked fine - i’m VERY familiar with how to power and update these units and WELL AWARE that the antenna has to be plugged in before power is applied. does anyone here have any other suggestions before I call my CC company and dispute the charge for selling me defective hardware ?
V 4.3.1 broken from opening
Which could take a while to unravel.
Perhaps @richonguzman will take the hint and sort out the problem.
Although to be fair, there are a fair few people around these days that couldn’t troubleshoot their way out of a paper bag - or sort out algae in a large shallow sunlit body of water …
Hi @nmcc, care to explain a little about this?
I see that he as a new Heltec V4 and it does not work, but @jmaccrory what firmware are you trying ? how?
What’s to explain? The OP says he has 5 units that work and one that doesn’t in any way shape or form that he’s tried but appears to have been told to post this information here.
Seems a bit irrelevant if the unit doesn’t power up or appear as a serial port.
My bad, perhaps you could tag the right person then?
no it does NOT power up or appear as a serial port
As you replied to my post where I said:
“the unit doesn’t power up or appear as a serial port.”
I’m wondering what you want or need?
Have Heltec sorted this yet?
