These boards are useless

Heltec has not supplied any support for wireless tracker v 1.2 or lora esp32. It is impossible to get them to work with custom sketches, they work well with Meshtastic but i would not recommend them with any thing else. How can you sell a product with no documentation

The title and content are two somewhat different things. The ESP32 boards are almost all fully documented with exactly the bare minimum and nothing extra. See the download folder is the most crucial link. However, the updates such as v1.2 usually get painstakingly slow support in the docs.
However, the boards are not at all useless, they’re great, especially given the price. But for such a small price, there’s no money for decent docs. So you pay for what you get. But yes, the docs for the new versions are definitely necessary.

“This cheap electric car I bought is really poor - it worked for about 150 miles and then just stopped.”

“Did you not recharge it”

“What?”

“You know, plug it in to recharge it”

“I don’t know how to do that and I didn’t buy the charger”

“All the docs are online and the charger is offered when you buy the car”

… later …

“This cheap electric car doesn’t go very fast, how can I hack it to speed it up”

“You can’t”

“Waaaaat? Nothing but problems”
