After powering off the hotspot with the power button I’m not able to turn it back on with the power button. I know I can just unplug the hotspot and plug it back in but the button should work. I worry it could be the beginning of a component/device failure.

The power button has no power-on function and can only be turned off.
Just looked at the manual and I guess you are correct since it only talks about powering off . The power button not powering on the hotspot is kind of stupid.
Mine too… so there is no power on function…just replug the power supply…
