Pins with power

Hi, I have a ESP32 WiFi Kit 32 v2, what is the difference between the pins arranged on both sides with 3.3v and Vext (with 3.3v I suppose) apart from the fact that Vext are activated through a GPIO pin setup?
Depending on the pins what maximum current do they deliver?

If I want to power the board through an external 5v power supply and not through the onboard USB connector, which pins should I connect to?
