NOOB question: changing frequency?

Hi all,

being totally new to LoRa, I bought 2 Wireless sticks (Gecko) to experiment.
Unfortunately, I bought the wrong frequency version (915 instead of 868).
In the arduino examples, one can set the frequency.

Now the question: does setting this variable really change the frequency? Or does it remain at the selected board frequency?

Replying to my own question:
I set the band to 868, and verified with an RTL-SDR .
It does indeed TX on 868 now.

Wireless sticks FX 868-915 uses the same hardware.
