Newbie here, just learning. I have a problem to solve & would appreciate advice on how to solve it. Problem: water truck with 150’ of hose and nozzle at the end, has pump interrupt circuit at truck. Need operator to remain at nozzle while pumping, if operator leaves nozzle flowing and walks away, circuit needs to open up at truck and disengage pump. The solution needs to be durable, compact, and low energy consumption. I was told I could accomplish this using three LoRa 32 v3 units, one on the nozzle, communicating to another on the operator via BLE to detect operator presence. The third would be on the truck and trigger a relay to disengage the pump. Is there a better way of doing this?
Need advice on components for project
I guess it depends on how you want to go about this. Do you actually want to play with processors and build a bespoke system yourself, or do you just want a solution? Something like what are advertised as Wireless Winch Remote Controls might very simply solve your problem.
I’d love a simple out of the box solution, but so far I can’t find one. I’m looking to make it so that the operator is prevented from walking away from mechanical nozzle while under flow. I want to require no action from the operator, but if they leave the nozzle the pump stops.
Thank you for responding!
