LoRa v4 support for LiFePO4 chemistry batteries

The onboard solar charging BMS for the battery should allow users to charge and use LiFePO4 chemistry cell batteries. LFP batteries are MUCH safer for things like unattended meshcore/meshtastic repeater nodes, especially when deploying them in areas prone to wildfire risk.

The voltage profile is different, at 3.2v resting and 3.6v fully charged, however this is within the tolerance range for the input voltage on the batt power input, the only thing stopping LFP use is the BMS circuit being hard-coded for traditional LiPO cells only.

Is there any intention to allow changing from LiPO voltage profiles to LFP profiles in future board iterations?

I haven’t seen any obvious presence from Heltec employees on the forum in the last few months, so I think it may be wise to send an email to support. They are also somewhat known to not answer those emails but I’m quite sure they read them all as they rarely fail to respond to the really important ones.
Besides that, agree :100:
