Linker Error esp32.project.Id: No such file or directory

Hello,

I have just setting up a new development - enviroment and I’m struggeling with the following linker error.

Arduino: 1.8.13 (Windows 10), Board: “WiFi LoRa 32(V2), Disabled, 240MHz (WiFi/BT), 921600, None, REGION_EU868, None”

c:/users/devel/appdata/local/arduino15/packages/heltec-esp32/tools/xtensa-esp32-elf-gcc/1.22.0-80-g6c4433a-5.2.0/bin/…/lib/gcc/xtensa-esp32-elf/5.2.0/…/…/…/…/xtensa-esp32-elf/bin/ld.exe: cannot open linker script file esp32.project.ld: No such file or directory

collect2.exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status

exit status 1

Error compiling for board WiFi LoRa 32(V2).

I used the following quick start guide:

…and tried to compile the Factory Test example - which is mentioned. I also have the same problem with other examples.

Does somebody has a hint?

Hi,

Which download method did you use to download the development environment? git?

# Steps to install Heltec ESP32&ESP8266 Arduino support on Windows
**Tested on 32 and 64 bit Windows 10 machines**

Executed commands **MUST** under the **user name/Documents/Arduino/hardware** path!

Start ```Git Bash``` and run through the following steps:

## Finish Arduino ESP32 support on Windows

Open `/Documents/Arduino/hardware/heltec/esp32/tools` and double-click `get.exe`

I just tried it to install it your way and I still have the same error …

…any other idea?

The file “esp.project.ld” is missing in your repository. Can you please verify?

“esp32.project.ld” I mean sorry.

we have verified it. maybe you can delete the whole file for ESP32 and git clone it again.

thanks that helped - I had an old installation of espressiv - after deleting all the old stuff and installing it again everything was fine.
