HTCC-AB02S with LiFePO4 battery?

Can the solar/USB charger in the AB02S charge LiFePO4 batteries?

The schematic at https://resource.heltec.cn/download/CubeCell/HTCC-AB02S/HTCC-AB02S_SchematicDiagram_V1.1.pdf just says “Charging management system” and gives no details on what chip is used.

Hi Bigwave, if you look on another reference diagram you have the detail of the charging circuit.
For example, Heltec recommands a charging circuit with TP4054 when using the AM02 module.

Hi all,
I’m working on a product using LiFePO4.

the onboard charger cannot be used for LiFePO4 since the voltage levels for LiFePO4 and LiPO are very different (LiFePO4 is always at 3.2v with an end of charge at 3.4-3.6v. LiPO has an end of charge at 4.2).

If you use the onboard charge you could damage/overcharge your LiFePO4.

I had to design my own board using a proper charger (look for CN3058 instead of TP4054)
