Frequency tie in m00 and ESP 32 Lora 32

I have a heltec Lora two channel gateway ( m00) and two of the Lora esp 32 v2 heltec units. I am trying to get the esp32s to transmit to the gateway., but I seem to be missing something in the setup as after setting up the esps with the sender code ( setting band to 915E6), and setting the gateway channels to 915, I still don’t see the senders data on the gateway. Do you have to set more than the band on the esp32 Lora senders?
