When I bought LoraWAN nodes in the past, they came with a DevEUI sticker. Where do I find this on the CubeCell? I know there is a unique ChipID (did not find a DevEUI, though). Does Heltec not have its own range of DevEUIs?
CubeCell - where to find the DevEUI
The CubeCells dont have euis and keys preprogrammed.
Just add a new device in your favorite server and assign those euis and keys to your cubecell
My network provider (Swisscom) writes the following in its documentation:
2.1. Globally unique EUI-64: DevEUI
Each LoRaWAN end device has a globally unique IEEE EUI-64 address, the DevEUI. These
addresses are allocated by manufacturers within address blocks that must be purchased from
IEEE, three blocks are available:
- Organizational Unique Identifier (OUI) / MAC Address Block Large (MA-L)
- MAC Address Block Medium (MA-M)
- MAC Address Block Small (MA-S)
It looks to me that this is rather something the device manufacturer should provide.
Some manufacturers buy such a block and set a fixed DevEUI on the devices some not.
Thats why ttn, tti an our servers can generate a unique DevEUI fir devices without fixes DevEUI.
We only work with ttn, tti and our own servers and using devices without a fixed DevEUI is no problem, just let the server generate on for your device
Thank you. In this case I need to contact Swisscom.
